That American Horror Stories reference was a blast from the past! I really enjoyed the early seasons before I slowly stopped watching for reasons I can't remember anymore.

Bizarre presentations can be so creepy and a great way to get under someone's skin combining magic and a great story!

I missed American Horror Story when it first aired (it wasn't widely advertised in the UK). It appears I'm ten years behind pop culture trends! I started by watching Coven on Disney+ because I've been researching the Axeman of New Orleans to help me write some bizarre magick scripts. Who'd have thought this kind of show would end up on a Disney channel?!

The show was enjoyable, and I liked the way it represented magic. I plan to watch the other seasons in the anthology, especially the Murder House/Coven crossover. It isn't easy to find the time, though. AHS It isn't exactly the kind of show you can watch with the kids! ;)

Steinmeyer books are excellent books and references. Jim is a good guide. I had the pleasure to work with him a few times. Love your list of effects and I’ll explore a few of these for my own shows I’m planning. Thank you Marty, love it!

That's precisely the right word to use, Charlotte. Jim is one of the best "guides" in the business. I love how he provides working scripts for his impuzzibilities. I wish more authors would follow his lead.

I appreciate your gratitude. Being an amateur, I get a limited opportunities to perform, so it pleases me to know that what I share can be helpful to other performers. Please keep me updated about your new shows; I would love to hear more. Good luck!

Thank you! The analog world probably provided more performance opportunities for everyone. But so does the digital world. You can create your own opportunities. I’m sick of touring and I choose those shows wisely. In the sometime not too distant future my music husband and I are launching our video website to include his concept videos and my own concept magic presentations. I’ll need a LOT of material to make this work. The beauty is I don’t have to perform large stage illusions to make that happen. Likewise you can create your own magic niche. You don’t have to consider yourself a pro to make that happen. Anyway if you are a magician then you are a magician. Amateur or professional distinction doesn’t matter. I’ve seen horrible pros and amazing entertains amateurs.

My hope is you follow your dreams and find those opportunities you deserve live or online.

All the best to you! ✨🤗

Yeah, I agree with your sentiment. My main limitation is that I have a demanding day job, and I'm a father first and a magician second. Although, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I also plan to do something performance-wise in the digital realm, although I love performing live. I have a lot of respect for magical performers who are innovating in this space.

I'm also proud to wear the "amateur magician" label as a badge of honour, not something to be ashamed of.

I look forward to seeing your videos and perhaps even a live show. Magic has a great way of connecting people.

Wishing you a magical day! 🪄✨💖
